Man arrested, charged with aggravated assault in Gulfport
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport man has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault.
At 3 a.m. on July 8, officers responded to a reported stabbing in the area of 41st Avenue. Officers initiated life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived on scene.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that 37-year-old John Shane Prine traveled to the residence and was asked to leave. He returned a short time later where an argument occurred.
According to Gulfport PD, when the victim tried to intervene, Prine charged and attacked him with a bladed weapon before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition. Prine was located and taken into custody a short time later.
Prine was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
