Man airlifted to hospital following wreck in Harrison County

Highway 53 was closed for almost an hour this afternoon as local fire crews extricated the driver of one of two pick-up trucks that collided head on.

According to Harrison County Fire Services Chief Pat Sullivan, a medical helicopter flew a man to a trauma center in serious condition. Three adults and two kids were transported from the scene to area hospitals.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.
