‘Making Strides against Breast Cancer’ kickoff

It was a sea of pink in the IP Casino this morning as the American Cancer Society kicked off its ‘Making Strides against Breast Cancer’ season.

The program was fashioned like a talk show with guest interviews, music, door prizes, and even a chance to win a Carnival Cruise. The kickoff highlighted how individuals, businesses, and organizations can support the American Cancer Society’s work to help save lives from breast cancer and also featured inspirational stories from breast cancer survivors.

Liz Gaulke, community development manager of the American Cancer Society, tells News 25 the theme of today’s event was Glitz and Glamour. “We wanted to be able to show how much we appreciated what our teams, our team leaders, our real men wear pink, our survivors, do for us. We wanted them to feel special the way they make survivors and people going through cancer so that was the theme.”

The 13th annual ‘Making Strides against Breast Cancer’ walk will take place Saturday, October 20th in Biloxi.
