Make-A-Wish grants local eight-year-old’s wish
Eight-year-old Ava Trehern describes today as a day like she’s never had before all thanks to loved ones, Galleria BMW in D’Iberville, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In 2016, at just two years old, Ava was diagnosed with retinoblastoma.
Despite the long journey, today was a day of celebration as the foundation granted Ava’s wish of a shopping spree and surprised her with gifts and a party at the Galleria.
There, she unwrapped presents, took pictures, ate lots of treats, and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Ava shared with News 25 some of the gifts she’s most excited to take home while Galleria BMW representatives express how important the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to support. (“What was your most exciting thing to pick out?) “A phone definitely, even though I didn’t pick it out, my grandma did. I still do not care. I’ve always wanted a phone, always.” “She’s very happy. She’s been talking about this for months every single day, when’s it going be, what are we going do, what’s it going to be like?”
Austin Watts with Galleria BMW said, “I think every day we get up and we take for granted a lot of things you know we get up and we go to work and we don’t think that like little Miss Ava she gets up and she faces the day a little differently so to me that’s why I’m involved with Make-A-Wish.”
