Main Street Pascagoula Façade Grant Program

Last year, Main Street Pascagoula awarded six main street businesses up to two thousand dollars to upgrade facades of buildings facing public streets. The second annual façade grant program is underway in Pascagoula.

Main Street Pascagoula is a privately supported organization with a façade grant program, helping main street businesses improve their overall appearance. Main Street Pascagoula Director Rebecca Davis said, “It can be painting, adding plants outside, anything that is going to enhance it to bring customers to you.”

Property owners of businesses with the Pascagoula Main District up to date on all city taxes with fifty or less employees may apply. The deadline is May 21st. Applicants must include their business name and information as well as desired façade improvements. “After that we will gather the applications and then we meet,” said Davis.

This is the second façade grant courtesy of the Main Street Pascagoula organization. Last year, six local businesses were able to renovate their stores. One of the recipients was Nura Juice Bar. Nura Juice Bar Owner Kenyetta Kinnard said, “It helped us in the process of getting new blinds for the juice bar. We got plants for the outside area. We built an aquaponics system to start growing our own plants. We got picture frames and new light fixtures.”

With a limit of two thousand dollars per grant, the façade grant program allows the opportunity to increase business revenues and property values. “It meant a lot to us that they were interested in us and awarded us with the grant. We thank them for that,” said Kinnard.

“This is a great way to enhance your business at no cost to you,” said Davis.
