MAC All-Star Game rosters announced

Each year, the Mississippi Association of Coaches puts on a pair of all-star games for the standout junior and senior basketball players throughout the state. This year, it’s the juniors making the biggest splash on the rosters.
The North-South All Star Game is comprised of all juniors and the Gulf Coast has a trio of talented players making the cut. From Biloxi it’s Dontavious Proby who’s got his Indians off to a perfect 18-0 start in 2018.
Joining him is the big man Derick Hall, hailing from Gulfport. Rounding out the squad is Pascagoula’s D. Booker, who’s made some big strides from his days as an underclassman. “Yeah, I consider myself as the best, my first all-star game ever getting picked I still consider myself one of the best on the Coast. Everybody doubted me and just last year I wasn’t doing nothing, this year I improved a lot. Coach Wright, he told me at the beginning of the year I had to step up so that’s what I’ve been doing. It means a lot, and I want to thank Coach Wright and my teammates for pushing me,” said Booker.
These games will be played on two consecutive weekends in March at Mississippi College in Clinton.
There’s plenty more recognition to go around on the girls side with five ladies from the Gulf Coast getting the nod as well. For the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic it’s Harrison Central’s Chyna Allen and the Mississippi State signee from St. Martin, Daphne White.
As for the North-South game, it’s Biloxi’s Shylia McGee, Brieanna Miller from Moss Point, and Sania Wells of East Central, sister of star running back Tony Brown.
