Lynn Meadows incorporated fun activities to honor MLK
To celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport created fun learning activities for children.
Children created a hands-on ‘what would you do to change the world’ art activity in the artist studio. They also participated in a teaching diversity egg experiment, enjoyed story time, and played with the big blue blocks at the ‘we will build together’ gathering place deck. Museum Manager Carla Sharrow said, “We know that they learn in school about the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King and his message, but we just like to reinforce their learning in school and reinforce the message that Dr. King gave us about treating everybody equal and how important it was back then and still is today.”
The next event for Lynn Meadows is ‘Free Friday’ which is hosted the last Friday of every month from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
