Lyman Senior Center spreads Christmas cheer
Officials at the Lyman Senior Citizens Center decided to spread some joy to their members by hosting their first Christmas party at the facility.
Regulars of the center, who range from 60-years-old to 98, entered the center to a lunch of pizza, sandwiches, desserts, and more while singing along to some classic Christmas tunes.
A portion of the party room was dedicated as a dance floor for the seniors if they wanted to get on their feet. The party wrapped up with some live singing of classic Christmas carols.
The center is a facility for seniors to get together with friends for socialization and activities. The center is open weekdays. Lyman Senior Center Director Al Jones said, “When we leave on four o’clock, they have a smile on cause when they walk out, they have a smile. They walk in the morning smiling, and every one of them -and I mean every one of them- said see you tomorrow at the Christmas party cause we’re gonna have fun and we’re gonna dance.”
The center is open five days a week Monday through Friday.
