Lyman Senior Center hosting food drive for less fortunate

The Lyman Senior Center is striving to make a difference.

The center is asking people of Harrison County to donate to their local food drive. The food drive’s first drop off will be July 25th and then again Friday, August 5th.

You can drop off your donations at the Lyman Senior Center and the Bayou View Hardware Store. Items that will be accepted include peanut butter crackers, Spaghetti-o’s, and a wide variety of canned goods. Lyman Senior Center Director Al Jones said, “We have a heart for the people who don’t have a lot to eat. And I went down and visited and it’s obvious that we have so many people that need food, so we have started a food drive that we are going to hopefully have a pickup here or at Bayou View Hardware, which is in Gulfport.”

We will have more details on the food drive as they become available.
