Lyman Elementary School in Gulfport Evacuated

Lyman Elementary School in Gulfport was evacuated this morning due to the smell of smoke. The Gulfport Fire Department was on the scene around 9:00a.m.

Firefighters searched the woods around the school and determined the smell of smoke was coming from somewhere else and there was no risk to the students.

The students were returned to the classroom a short time later. WXXV-TV will have more on this story tonight at 5:30pm on NBC and 9:00pm on FOX.
