Lt. Mark Rodriguez Golf fundraiser

Lt. Mark “Chi-Chi” Rodriguez of Gautier received support from all along the Gulf Coast with a golf tournament among other fundraisers, raising money to offset his medical and living expenses.

Rodriguez was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2016 and has served twenty years with the Moss Point Police Department and as an officer with the Gautier Police Department. The Mark Rodriguez Benefit Fund has raised over $25,000 from the golf tournament, a silent auction, sponsors and donations from businesses.

Event Coordinator Rocky Fremin knows Lt. Rodriguez appreciates all of the support. “It’s been amazing. This has been a wonderful opportunity. It’s been about the community getting together and pulling together and doing something that’s wonderful.”

Over a hundred businesses have donated and helped with the events that took place over the weekend.
