Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann announces second term campaign

Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann visited the Coast to announce that he will be running for a second term.

Hosemann was elected to the position in 2019 with more than 60 percent of the votes. Since he took office, Hosemann has helped make many changes across the state including reducing the income tax state to four percent, reducing the state’s debt, providing a $6,000 average raise for teachers and more.

Hosemann says all voters need to do to feel comfortable with keeping him in office is to look at the success he has seen while in office. “We bought Cat Island while I was down here. We raised more money for Tidelands than ever raised before. You should look at my record. You know, I’m not going to deviate from that. I’ve been blessed to be hired for like 15 years now, so my record will speak for itself and people will get what they pay for.”

Hosemann will make stops at nine other locations across the state to announce his candidacy.
