Louisiana man sentenced for role in 2022 Biloxi infant death
Christian Cookmeyer will serve 50 years behind bars on three charges (Harrison County Sheriff’s Office)
BILOXI, Miss (WXXV)- A Louisiana man will spend 50 years in prison after pleading guilty last week to second-degree murder, felony child endangerment, and drug possession charges in the death of a four-month old baby in Biloxi back in 2022.
29-year-old Christian Cookmeyer will serve his sentences on all of these charges consecutively in MDOC custody.
Prosecutors say Cookmeyer was caring for his girlfriend’s four-month-old daughter at a Biloxi hotel in December 2022, when the child was critically injured.
The infant died days later at a New Orleans hospital.
Investigators found the child’s injuries were consistent with abuse, not an accident.
