Louisiana man charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary

A Louisiana man is behind bars in Jackson County, charged with 12 counts of commercial burglary.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release that the owner of a mini storage company on Seaman Road called the sheriff’s department on Sunday to report a string of storage break-ins. The owner said he saw the man jumping the fence surrounding the property.

Deputies found the suspect, Micah Giles Galt, 33, at a nearby convenience store with several items from storage units in Galt’s pockets.

Deputies also searched a motel room where Galt was staying which was across the street from the storage company.

Several locks were found along the fenceline of the storage unit property that appeared to be cut from the units. Suitcases and paperwork also were recovered and returned to the property owner.

While there, Ezell said another man who was in Galt’s room became disruptive. Deputies charged Timothy Ryan Wright, 30, of Biloxi, with giving false information and disorderly conduct.

Galt is in the Jackson County jail with no bond, pending an initial hearing. Wright also is jailed and his bond was set at $1,000 on each charge.
