Lorenzo Wright named new Head Basketball Coach at Harrison Central
It was a day of celebration for Harrison Central high school as they hit the jackpot with their most recent hire. The Red Rebels have named State Championship coach Lorenzo Wright as their new head basketball coach.
The Harrison County School District Administrative Building was filled with red black and white as Athletic Director Kevin Roberts announced that Lorenzo Wright would now be leading the Red Rebels on the hardwood. Wright takes over the program following the retirement of longtime head coach Francisco “Boo” Hardy, who concludes a remarkable career after decades of dedicated service.
Roberts said Wright was the exact guy he wanted for the job and his resume speaks for himself. Not only did he just bring the first basketball state championship to Pascagoula high school, he also has over 300 career wins and is known for developing strong student athletes on the court and in the community. Head coach Lorenzo Wright is excited for this opportunity and he is thrilled to come back home.
Congratulations again to Coach Wright, and we look forward to seeing all he accomplishes as a Red Rebel!
