Looking ahead to Spring Break on the Coast

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- South Mississippi cities and businesses are preparing for an influx of spring breakers making their way to our beaches this weekend.

The Gulfport Police Department released their Spring Break traffic plan this week.

Highway 90 from Cowan Road to Debuys Road will have one lane open for traffic going east and west if there’s heavy congestion this weekend. The other lane will open only for first responders.

With the city expecting more visitors and heavier traffic in the area, businesses on the water are preparing for what they expect to be a very busy weekend.

South Mississippi drivers can expect heavier traffic on Highway 90 now through Sunday.
