Long Time Harrison County Superintendent Honored

Henry Arledge has spent over 40 years of service with the Harrison County School District. Today, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors honored him.
At Monday morning’s meeting, the board presented a resolution commending him for his 48 years of service. Arledge will be retiring as Harrison County Superintendent of Education at the end of the academic year. District 4 Supervisor John Johnson worked with Arledge and says his work with the district was huge to its growth and the success of its students. “Mr. Arledge has been a life saver for the Harrison County School District over the years. He’s focused on student achievement and building the district, to make sure the students are safe in the district and make sure they meet the academic requirements. That’s what it’s about in the school district, focusing on student achievement and how well they succeed in life.”
Roy Gill won this past November’s election and will be replacing Arledge as the new superintendent.
