A Long Beach woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man at a home on Daugherty Road.

Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said 55-year-old Daphne Zeringue was taken to the Harrison County jail and bond was set at $1 million.

Deputies responded to the 21000 block of Daugherty Road early Thursday about 4 a.m. about a stabbing.

They found a man inside the home dead from multiple stab wounds. Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer identified the victim as 68-year-old Gary Cooper of Long Beach.

Investigators determined Zeringue was responsible for the murder and she turned herself in to Long Beach Police shortly after the incident.
