Long Beach School District announces reorganizations at elementary campuses
LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- The Long Beach School District announces a major realignment of the grade level structure for the city’s elementary schools.
Starting with the 2026-27 school year, the following changes take place.
Quarles Elementary will serve Long Beach students from pre-k to first grade. Second through 4th grade will be housed at Harper McCaughan Elementary, and fifth and sixth graders will attend Reeves Elementary.
School District leaders say the move was made in response to the city’s population shifts, which has created imbalances across the three campuses in recent years.
It’s also a way to ensure developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all elementary students in the city.
