Long Beach Police investigating deadly hit-and-run

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- Long Beach police are asking for your help in solving a deadly hit and run that happened over the weekend.

Police say 36-year-old Jimmy Mero was found lying in the road on First St., west of Cleveland Avenue, around 5:30 Sunday morning.

Mero was taken to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, where he later died from his injuries.

Surveillance video indicates the vehicle involved may have been a truck or SUV.
