Long Beach officials warn residents against planning department scam

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- Long Beach officials are warning about a scam currently going around.

Some residents have been receiving calls and emails from people claiming to be from the planning department.

Long Beach will never ask for payments to be wired or sent digitally.

Money will never be requested through email, text, or other online methods.

If you do receive a message, do not respond and delete the message immediately.

If you receive something in the mail, you’re advised to bring it to city hall.
