Long Beach names Ryan Ross new head football coach

As one of the last high school football programs on the Gulf Coast still in search of a new head football coach for the 2020 season, Long Beach didn’t have to settle for one.

Today, the school announced it is hiring of Ryan Ross who joins the Bearcat family following his nine year run at Ocean Springs.

He’ll be taking over for Philip Pigott who resigned after just two years on the job with an overall record of 4-18.

Ross has a track record that speaks for itself, having taken the Greyhounds to the 6A playoffs in six of his nine seasons at OS.

He’ll be looking to do the same thing for a 5A program that hasn’t gotten a taste of the postseason since 2011.
