Long Beach names Chase Curlee Head Coach of Girls Basketball Program

A proud Long Beach alumnus, Curlee steps into the role bringing both a strong coaching résumé and a “student-first” philosophy. Since joining the district in 2019, he has played a key role in developing athletes across multiple levels, serving as both a head and assistant coach for boys’ and girls’ basketball at the middle and high school levels.

Curlee is coming off an impressive 2023–2024 campaign, where he led the middle school boys’ team to a district championship. His leadership efforts also earned him District Coach of the Year honors.

Now taking over the girls’ program, his goal is to use basketball as a tool to help student-athletes succeed both on the court and in the classroom.

With a deep connection to the community and a proven track record of success, Curlee is set to lead the next chapter of Long Beach girls’ basketball.
