Long Beach Middle School Kids Get Drug Abuse Lesson
Local D.E.A. agents spoke to the middle school students, telling them the dangers of getting into drugs. After, the advanced drama class performed a short play that outlined the events of what could happen if students got wrapped up in drugs. They showcased an emotional scene of a young girl dying.
Dr. Timothy Holland, Principal of Long Beach Middle School, says, “Children today are faced with so many more challenges than we were when we grew up. It’s just a way for their classmates to reach out to them. A lot of times, they don’t want to listen to adults when adults throw that message out there. They think it’s just the same old adult to speak, but when their classmates do it and send the message, it has a lot more of an impact on them.”
