Long Beach Fire Department scheduled to test fire hydrants
LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)-The Long Beach Fire Department is notifying residents about upcoming fire hydrant testing set to begin next week.
This is state-mandated testing and is essential to make sure hydrants are working properly and ready in case of an emergency.
The process is expected to last two months, depending on weather conditions.
During this time, crews will be flowing hydrants throughout the city.
As a result, some residents may notice temporary brown or discolored water caused by sediment being stirred up in the water lines.
If you have concerns, you’re encouraged to contact the department directly.
