Long Beach Carnival Association holds Family Fest
Despite some rain over the weekend, the Long Beach Carnival Association hosted a community family fest at the St. Thomas Pavilion.
Team Stirrat-Brown of the carnival association hosted the all-day event with food, vendors, games, and more. The event raised funds for local charities and scholarships for Coast students. Pat Brown said, “I have been involved in carnival most of my life, and it’s always been that way. It’s always been a community that comes together and helps support the school and the other charities that the organization give monies to.”
Nate Stirrat said, “To be selected on an anniversary year is a very great honor. It’s one of those things where it’s like, yeah, you kind of hope it always happens. You never expected to happen, and then when it happens, it’s very surreal, like, we don’t expect it. We want to make sure everybody has the good time that we know they can have.”
The carnival association is celebrating 65 years. Visit their Facebook page to see more events hosted by the group and participate in fundraisers.
