Locals welcome the Great Food Truck Race

The race is on, except you won’t be running anywhere during this race. The Great Food Truck Race is happening on the Gulf Coast this week.

Food trucks from across the nation are battling it out for the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s love.

Businesses are trucking across the Mississippi Gulf Coast to show locals what they have to offer for the Great Food Truck Race.

The producers tell us that destinations like Coastal Mississippi are exactly what they are looking for. Producer Jeffrey Weaver said, “We love to come to communities that like to have us. Sometimes when we go to bigger cities, we can get lost in the shuffle. But here in Ocean Springs it’s the right size, everyone’s friendly, it’s a great community and it’s a great feel.”

They have picked the right place because locals are excited to welcome them and are secretly hoping for a chance to be on the show.

The locals have turned on that southern charm and welcomed the crew of each food truck into their community. Local resident Kay Cox said, “I think the thing I like the most is actually visiting with each of the vendors, you know, actually talking to them and finding out where they’re from and more about them.”

This episode will be in season 17 of the Great Food Truck Race on Food Network.
