Locally Shot Film makes it Big Time

A film showcasing the beauty of South Mississippi and talent of local actors will be appearing at one of the largest film festivals in the world.
The feature film “Happy Log” has been selected for screening at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Back in January of 2015, News 25 covered the local premiere of the film directed by Gary Thieman. “Happy Log,” which includes sections of the Wolf River and other beautiful spots of South Mississippi, has made it all the way to France.
Executive Producer Connie Thieman tells News 25 the film may change the way some people view Mississippi for the better. “It’s going to show beautiful parts of the state that sometimes are missed out when we’re looking at movies and they’re depicting Mississippi. We feel it’s going to depict Mississippi in a better light.”
Thieman says it was the beautiful Mississippi Coast that inspired their crew to shoot the feature film. She says the action-adventure film is one for the whole family to enjoy.
