Local student picked for Kidd’s Kids

One Harrison County kindergartner is about to go on a magical journey that promises to be filled with wonderful memories.
Five-year-old Jaxson Shultz has been selected by the Kidd’s Kids program for an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Kidd’s Kids was founded by the late nationally syndicated radio host Kidd Kraddick to provide chronically or terminally ill children and their families an opportunity to enjoy a week of fun at Disney World.
Jaxson has muscular dystrophy and he attends Lyman Elementary School. He’s a huge fan of Mickey Mouse. His birthday parties have always been Disney themed and he has dressed up as Mickey for at least three Halloweens. Jaxson’s mom, Heather Shultz, said, “This is something he’s always asked me to do since he’s been able to talk. It’s always I want to meet Mickey. I want to hug Mickey. I want to hold Mickey’s hand. For this dream to come true for him, I just can’t even explain it.”
Jaxson, his parents, and three brothers have never been to Disney World. They will leave on November 16th.
