Local leaders strut the runway at Renaissance the Runway fundraiser
Local leaders strutted the runway all for a good cause at the Biloxi Civic Center where it was all about fashion and fun.
The Bacot McCarty Foundation held their annual Renaissance the Runway fundraiser. The organization raises millions of dollars for nonprofit organizations across South Mississippi.
Renaissance the Runway is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year. They call it the fashion event of the year with 80 community leaders participating by modeling clothes from local shops.
News 25 spoke with a few of the models, who all say they enjoyed strutting down the aisle for a fundraiser that gives right back to their community. Model Traci Barrientos said, “Everybody has come together. It is local boutiques and shops and all of our local organizations that have made donations to our silent auction.”
Model Senator Jeremy England said, “It really is a win-win for everybody. I mean, the Coast always looks dressed nice. I’m just happy to be a part of it this time.”
Aside from the funds raised from the fashion show itself, there was also a silent auction in which 100 percent of the proceeds benefit local nonprofits and a raffle that helps provide funds for scholarships for local students.
