Local kids step their game up

Check out this group of local kids that have been polishing their moves on and off the court all week long, starting their summer off with a basketball camp. This camp to give kids the keys to success in basketball and life.
Coach Patrick Lewis with the Gulf Coast Legends Basketball Team says this is something that he and several other parents have put together in an effort to give back to their community. “We’ve had a great camp. The kids have come out and shown great enthusiasm. They’ve learned some things with basketball, how to be a good teammate, a good friend. We’re trying to acknowledge bullying, obesity. What we’re trying to do is come out and give the kids a little outreach, take guns out of their hands and put basketballs in their hands.”
Lewis tells News 25 the response from the kids has been excellent and he hopes this is something that can continue to leave a positive impact in his community.
