Local hair salons provide free haircuts for back to school
A hair salon in Vancleave is making a positive impact by offering free haircuts to children as they prepare for the first day of school.
More than 20 children gathered in Vancleave Middle School’s cafeteria to receive their free haircut.
The owner of Magnolia Way Salon, Lauren Phillips, partnered with the owner of Hidden Gem Salon, Brook Hilton, to offer free back to school haircuts for grade school children.
The Magnolia Way Salon is located in Vancleave and offers hair, lash, and tanning services.
Phillips says it is her way of giving back to the community that welcomed her new business. “I just opened my business in February and with all the support I’ve been given in this small community, we wanted to give back in some way.”
The Magnolia Way looks forward to bringing on more hairstylists and making this an annual event.
