Local Glass Artist, Annie Morhauser, to Visit Ocean Springs

There are 26 miles of sand on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and when sand is heated and shaped, it can become beautiful glass sculptures.

The founder of AnnieGlass will be visiting Hillyer House in Ocean Springs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of a five store southern tour. Annie Morhauser is known for pioneering her handcrafted glass making process and recently received the Green Award for eco-sustainability. Hillyer House owner, Paige Riley, explains why Annie’s beautifully imperfect, handmade glass has been so popular on the Coast.

Riley says, "It’s very traditional and of course the south is very traditional with gold and silver, then she also has her more contemporary band and her nautical line that really resonates with the Gulf Coast."
