Local Girl Scout troop hosts animal relief drive
Girl Scout Troop 3577 is collecting pet supplies to drop off to residents and rescues in need.
They are asking for animal food, leashes, collars, cat litter, cleaning supplies, crates/kennels, and anything else you would like to give.
Donations can be dropped off now through September 16th at T and N Feed Store, Hunter MMA, and Big Ridge Veterinary Hospital.
Troop leaders and Girl Scouts plans to deliver supplies to LaPlace and other hard-hit places on September 18th. Troop Leader Kristina Rocco said, “These girls are too young to remember Katrina. They learned it in school. So, all they remember are the pictures that they were taught and the stories they’ve been so to go over to an area that has been ravished by such a harsh hurricane and see it first hand is going to be a life experience that I hope they won’t forget.”
Cash donations are also accepted. The troop is purchasing pet supplies with any donated funds.
