Local Casino Wants to Save on Energy

LED lights use only a fraction of the energy a normal light bulb uses, saving energy and benefiting the environment.
Beau Rivage Casino and Resort in Biloxi has recently installed nearly 6,000 high efficiency LED lights in their retail area, just in time for Earth Day. Mississippi Power presented the casino with a $50,000 re-incentive check for the project.
Director of Engineering at Beau Rivage Al Greene tells News 25 the LED lights will be saving more than 17 million kilowatt hours of electricity each year from now on. “We’re saving energy and also we’re saving the maintenance cost for replacement and we’re doing the right thing. It’s all green.”
The Beau Rivage says their  corporate company MGM has given them the opportunity to do the LED project. This won’t be the last move the casino makes to continue to go green.
