Local businessman gathers supplies for tornado relief efforts

A Biloxi business owner is taking his time to get the community to help with tornado relief in north Mississippi.

Owner of Joe’s Garage, Joe Krivanec, decided to help out the City of Rolling Fork, which was impacted by the tornados on Friday after talking to his daughter who is a nurse practitioner in the city.

Since then, Krivanec has been going around the Coast collecting as many supplies as he can to bring to Rolling Fork.

Today, he made visits to several locations such as St. James School and the Beau Rivage, who both donated large amounts of supplies including sheets, pillows, toiletries, diapers, and more. Krivanec said, “It means a lot to me. I got real overwhelmed with how much people have donated. I mean the generosity on the Gulf Coast has been remarkable, and I get a little worked up.”

Krivanec will head over to Rolling Fork tomorrow to bring all supplies collected to those in need.
