Local businesses team up for Solid Pink Drive Thru in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

People came out to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Solid Pink Drive-Thru.

WXXV and Carter’s Champions teamed up to collect donations that went directly to the Memorial Foundation to help with local breast cancer patients.

Everyone who drove through the pink arch got a pink shirt and a donut from the Donut Shop, a new business on Highway 49 in Gulfport.

Carter’s Champion Director Liz Gaulke tells News 25 they have been getting much more support this year than last year and hopefully each year it will continue to grow since people are realizing how much of an impact they can make. “Truly it is a way to save people’s lives. You don’t think about that, but a lot of people when they can’t afford it, they won’t get their mammogram. They won’t get their treatments even though they are supposed to go in every week, every month. It’s just a way to make sure they have a fighting chance, literally.”
