Local business owner making gift baskets for nurses

Our hospitals have been battling what seems like a never-ending fight with COVID-19 and a local boutique owner wants to make sure nurses know they are appreciated.

Brandin Brosch, owner of Charisma Boutique in Ocean Springs, is collecting donations for gift baskets that will be delivered to ICU nurses.

The idea first started last year as a way to help nurses, but also help businesses that were hurting at the start of the pandemic.

Businesses donated gift cards and when she received donations, she purchased more gift cards from the businesses that originally made the donations.

This year, Brosch hopes the baskets will not only provide great gifts to hard working ICU nurses, but bring the community together. “Last year I went and bought life savers and attached them to cards that said ‘you’re a life saver.’ So, they got a little gift card and a box of mints and I’m just really excited to give back. As divided as we’ve become, I think this is something to let our hospital workers know how important they are to us.”

So far, Brosch has already collected over $600, all of which will be used to buy gift cards from other local businesses that make donations.
