Local bomb squad prepped for emergencies

We are seeing terror attacks targeting cities around the world. The face of terrorism is changing, which is why it must be addressed on a local level.
Here on the Coast, the Biloxi Police Department Bomb Squad is a big part of that effort. Biloxi PD Bomb Squad Commander Lt. Milton Houseman said, “The federal government determined there was a need for this type of response all over the country, not just in the big cities, but everywhere in the nation. Because as you see now, you see these localized, lone wolf type individuals that are initiating their own personal jihads. It’s not just relegated to New York and Chicago and the major cities now. I trust these officers with my life. I know what they’re capable of. I know what they can do and there’s not any task that I would put past them, especially working as a team.”
The Biloxi Police Department’s Bomb Squad is one of four similar teams spread across Mississippi. Each of those units is responsible for responding to emergency situations in their designated portion of the state.
