Local author visits English classes at St. Patrick High School

Traditionally published author Johnnie Bernhard is hoping to inspire a future generation of published authors and writers at St. Patrick High School.
Bernhard is a local author living in Ocean Springs. Her book titled ‘A Good Girl’ was published last year and contains cover art by celebrated Mississippi artists Grady Byrd. Today and yesterday she presented her book to English classes at St. Patrick High School.
Bernhard discussed literary elements and gave students tips on the writing process. “The biggest takeaway I’d like for them to gain is that it’s never too late to begin something. It’s never too late to complete a goal or even begin one. That we can continue to learn every day of our lives, I hope that’s the message I can give to them.”
Bernhard’s books were selected as finalists for the Faulkner-Wisdom Competition and for the Kindle Book Awards.
