Local artist paints mural showcased at IP Casino Resort Spa

IP Casino Resort Spa and the Biloxi Public Arts Project selected local artist Grace Bennett to paint a new mural at IP.

Bennett, a Pass Christian resident, has been hard at work painting a new colorful mural that will greet IP guests at the main entrance.

Bennett competed with 18 other local artists for her spot.

The goal of the mural project is to attract locals and tourists to IP and the Biloxi Main Street area while also offering local artists an opportunity to expand their portfolio and professional development. Bennett said, “I grew up on the Coast. I have lived here for 22 years. So, I knew that it was something that I would be interested in being a part of. The idea behind the mural is really to just try to encompass all the goodness in the Gulf Coast. So, the great culture, the great food, the great people, that was really the idea behind the mural and then the execution took about eight days.”

A public mural celebration event will take place Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the IP main entrance.
