Loaves and Fishes holding Fish Fry Cook-Off this Saturday
Loaves and Fishes is having its second annual Fish Fry Cook-Off this Saturday to help fund renovations for their new building.
The cook-off will have ten vendors competing for a trophy for best fish. Individuals tasting the fish will have a chance to vote on who they liked best.
The fish will come with potato salad and baked beans. Dessert and drinks will be sold separately. It’s $5 a ticket and the cook-off will be at Point Cadet in Biloxi from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
All proceeds will be used to help Loaves and Fishes towards their building fund. They have been serving out of a food truck in Back Bay Mission’s parking lot for a year. Loaves and Fishes Executive Director Nina LaGrone said, “So, we’re really excited about getting our own building. We’re very thankful and fortunate that we have been able to use Back Bay’s parking lot and our food truck. So, we do make it work each day, but we are really excited about getting our own building. We can feed more people and the process just each day will be easier for everyone.”
Loaves and Fishes is hoping to have the building in Biloxi renovated in three to six months.
