Loaded Gun Found inside Oak Park Elementary School Students backpack In Ocean Springs

During a routine safety check today, a teacher at Oak Park elementary school discovered a loaded gun inside of a student’s backpack, according to Ocean sSrings school Superintendent Bonita Coleman. The Ocean Springs school district sent out a phone message, alert parents of that discovery. Ocean Springs police say the child is described as special needs and very young. Police say the student may have not even known the gun was in the back pack. No word yet on what disciplinary action the school district will take against that student.
