Little leaguers got to live out their Major League dreams at the Biloxi Shucker’s Nike Camp!

It was game day for the Biloxi Shuckers, but before the pros took the field, little leaguers made sure it was good to play on during the first ever Nike Baseball Camp at Keesler Federal Park. For the past three days, kids ages 7 to 13 got to live out their major league dreams with a Nike Baseball Camp.

Throughout the unique experience, campers got to learn basic fundamentals, success when it comes to fielding, throwing mechanics, pitching, hitting, catching, and of course everyone’s favorite, a giant game of wiffle ball at the Shucker’s brand new field!

The Biloxi Shuckers organizer prides themselves on community involvement, and they believe this camp was a huge success.

“I think the biggest part of it is giving them an opportunity that others may not have or they may not have outside of this opportunity,” said Community Development manager, David Blackwell. “It’s been really cool to get our coaches and players involved and even our staff to be able to interact with them and kind of give them a sneak peek of what goes on behind the scenes here, but also give them a chance to learn, have a good time, and become better teammates with each other.”

Not only did each camper get a t-shirt, but also a ticket to the Shuckers game against the Smokies! What an incredible game they got to experience tonight as the Shuckers won the South Division title.
