Little Hats, Big Hearts at Memorial Hospital

They may be small, but these red hats are raising awareness for a major health concern in babies.
About 40,000 babies are born every year with congenital heart defects, many requiring surgical or medical intervention. To spread the word about the defect, volunteers knit red hats for the Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign.
Memorial Hospital in Gulfport was the first in Mississippi to become a partner with this campaign through the American Heart Association. Today, 50 hats were donated to the hospital.
