Lions of Biloxi presents Mother of the Year Award
Lions of Biloxi presented a special mother with the 68th annual Mother of the Year award.
Every year, the Biloxi Lions Club chooses a mom who has gone above and beyond in the community to be the Mother of the Year.
It was an emotional day as Lauren Smith was presented the club’s award. Smith’s daughter nominated her mother for the award and introduced her with a heartfelt speech at the award banquet.
Lauren is married with three kids and works as a physical therapist at Encore Rehabilitation.
Along with being a dedicated wife and mother, Smith also volunteers within the community. Smith said, “I feel very humbled, very honored. It’s a very special award. I feel like I am representing all the moms on the Gulf Coast, hardworking moms that just want the best for their children and their families.”
Smith’s daughter nominated her through a class writing assignment.
