Lice treatment donation to Harrison County schools

The Orange Grove Rotary Club is back lending a helping hand to the community.

This time it was not your typical school supply donation. At their monthly meeting today, the club handed out lice treatment kits to representatives from each of the nine elementary schools in the Harrison County School District to receive the kits.

They will be available to students who need or cannot afford to buy it for themselves.

The Rotary Club tells News 25 this may not be something we think about often, but it can be very beneficial to the students. Orange Grove Rotary Club President Regina Lawrence said, “Well we’ve done several things so far this year. One of our projects is our dictionaries at each of the schools. Children are just so important. They are our next generation and if we can keep them healthy and we can help the schools to continue to educate all year long instead of having times off and kids having to be out of school, we feel that it’s very important. We love our kids.”

During the meeting, the club also took the time to put together bags of Thanksgiving food to hand out to the community.
