Library Card Sign-Up Month
Students have been back in school for about a month and now the Jackson-George County Library System wants to remind parents of one of the most valuable school supplies: a library card.
That’s why they have marked September as ‘Library Card Sign-Up Month.’ The Jackson-George Regional County Library System has seven different locations so there is sure to be one near you.
They want parents and students to realize a library card goes way beyond just checking out books. They have community programs, fun events, and plenty of electronic resources.
Public Relations Coordinator Rex Bridges said, “With your library card, you can download e-books, audio books, you can learn new languages. You can learn testing for things like the ACT or even professional testing. So, we have so much to offer in the way of electronic resources now and everybody can access it by just using their cell phones.”
To get a card all you have to have are two forms of identification or for the kids a school report card and parent signature.
