Legacy Park wins appeal against Singing River

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV)- The Legacy Park development in Gautier recently announced they’ve won an appeal brought on by Singing River Hospital.

In a Facebook post, the developers called the recent court judgement “a huge win for all of Mississippi” as Singing River Hospital was attempting to block the ambulatory surgery center through the certificate of need process or CON laws.

CON Laws were originally created to prevent duplication of healthcare services which Singing River felt the Legacy Park development was doing.

Legacy Park developers called the law a “tool for protecting monopolies” and “stifling innovation.” They say they look forward to “bringing top-tier affordable and accessible healthcare to the community.”
