Lawsuit related to debate over imported seafood dismissed against Mary Mahoney’s, Quality Seafood

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- A well-known Biloxi restaurant, as well as a seafood market in the city, have won the lawsuit related to the debate over imported seafood.

According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, Mary Mahoney’s Old French House and Quality Seafood and Poultry were targets of a federal lawsuit over imported seafood last year.

Today, the judge dismissed the lawsuit after he found “no concrete injury” to the diner who filed the suit, claiming he was served frozen fish from a foreign country instead of fresh from the Gulf.

Mahoney’s forfeited just over a million dollars in the separate criminal case over the mislabeling of seafood, while Quality Seafood forfeited exactly a million dollars.
